Thomas the Train

Thomas the Train will be in town here starting tomorrow :) We have a steam train that runs every Saturday and Sunday here in town (at least in the summer and for holidays.) However this weekend and next weekend is a special appearance of Thomas the Train. My town is going to be crazy, like it's not crazy enough already!! Oh well at least the kids get to go on a Thomas train ride here.
It is nice, the train besides running on weekends in the summer does special holiday stuff. Train ride with the Easter Bunny, Corn Maze train ride and Polar Express to name a couple special rides. For the parents they have a wine tasting train ride.

The Crayola Adventure

We had a recent adventure to the crayola factory store. Here is a picture of the girls with a crayon. They were drawing on the sidewalk with 3D sidewalk chalk that they had set up outside the store. It was pretty cool, almost was like you were drunk though when you looked through the glasses that went with the chalk! Not sure if it is a new item I didn't think to ask but they did have it in their store and it was the first time I have seen it.
We bought some of the air dry clay and washable kids paints. The girls had fun shaping the clay and so did I. I made a snowman and a snail, my youngest made a Christmas tree and my oldest made a leopard's paw. I was very impressed by the leopard's paw (pictured here.) She had no help I was into was I was making and she came up to me and said here Mom I made a leopard's paw! Of course I had to take a picture of it :)

Why so many eggs???

Ok so everybody thought I was crazy. Well they are not far off I am a little crazy. For Easter of course the girls and I had to color eggs right? Yup so you would think that being it is just me and the girls I would get a dozen or maybe 18 eggs...wrong. I had to make sure there were multiple eggs for each color so I went out and got 36 eggs. Why you ask? I am trying to answer that myself as I am getting tired of egg salad for lunch-lol. Oh well at least the girls enjoyed it! They made everybody they knew an egg even the cats had their own egg with their name on it.
But at least they had a nice Easter and well plenty of eggs. They were happy with everything the Easter Bunny left them and of course they enjoyed Grandma's house for Ham dinner so I am happy with that. Just as long as I don't give myself a heart attack from all the eggs and mayo :)

A horse named chief

On a recent adventure to go visit Pop Pop the girls had the opportunity to ride a horse named chief. He was such a good horse. There were 6 horses at Pop Pop's house and my oldest wouldn't stop asking me to ride the horses until she got on 1! They had a lot of fun on him. Horses are wonderful for the kids. My oldest decided she wanted to walk chief (holding his reigns and walk along side him) which was cool. My youngest was walking with them as well. All was great until they decided to try to run with him-yikes!! They are a little too small to try to stop him from a run!

The girls made out pretty good on Halloween

Well I found the black shirt for my little black cat. It took going from store to store and then even more stores. Didn't think I was going to find 1! Anyway I found it the girls were adorable and they got a lot of candy. I mean a lot of candy! Everybody thought they were adorable.

Happy Halloween

Ok this seems to be a little off the wall to me. I cannot find a black turtle neck for my oldest daughter anywhere! She wants to be a black cat for Halloween and I cannot find even an all black long sleeve shirt. Uh-Oh!!!! I am determined though and will get something worked out.
So my youngest wants to be a bunny and my oldest a black cat. The bunny was easy, white outfit nice white pants and long sleeve white shirt got the bunny ears and bunny tail. Now I just have to find the stuff for the cat. Oh well I will get it straight! Happy Halloween everybody and be safe out there!

Terrible twos, round 2

Her second birthday though I am not sure who was more excited her or her big sister. Going through the second round of the terrible two's, yikes! Her big sister wasn't really too bad, she was actually pretty mild. So I guess I should say terrible two's round 1 and a half. My youngest here is definitely in the two's. Throws fits all the time, screams like you are hurting her if she doesn't get what she wants and kicks and swings her arms. Of course she does not get what she wants in a fit and I am trying to teach her this. And her favorite word is no, ok sometimes yes. Her no is a very firm no too! She means business. Is it April 2009 yet? It's got to be time for her next birthday!
